About Sediba Rock Lodge
If it’s space you’re after then look no further than the huge 120 m2 suites at Sediba! Add in your own private Jacuzzi on your deck and you can see that a stay here promises to deliver a romantic experience par excellence!
There are a few things that mark Sediba Rock Lodge out as being a little bit different from all of the other lodges in the Welgevonden. Firstly there are the extremely generously sized suites themselves – at 120 sqm-plus they are some of the largest rooms in the entire reserve. There’s also the lodge’s location in the far north of the reserve, quite a distance from the bulk of the Welgevonden lodges which are concentrated further south thereby giving Sediba a more isolated feel where you’re less likely to see other lodge’s vehicles on game drives for example. Finally there’s the size of the lodge as Sediba’s 10 suites means offers more capacity than most of the other Welgevonden lodges which are typically 5 rooms in size.
Sediba Rock Lodge's 10 gorgeous suites are spectacularly situated on a hillside with great views overlooking a valley with a perennial stream running through it. Sediba's 10 suites manage to embrace the stunning natural environment outside whilst simultaneously offering sumptuous comfort and tranquillity – not to mention huge space! The suites are attractive open-plan spaces with a surface area of 120 -150 square metres and the sense of space is heightened (literally!) by the high exposed thatched roofs. Another particularly attractive feature are the massive glass windows/walls which stretch literally from floor to ceiling – so even from inside your suite you are able to enjoy stunning views over the bush outside! Spacious bedrooms with adjoining open plan bathroom lead into a comfortable lounge area complete with your own fire place – this then leads out onto your own private viewing deck boasting your own Jacuzzi bath from which you can enjoy stunning views over the majestic Waterberg mountains. Naturally the suites are also fitted with all the usual modern-day comforts such as air-conditioning, mini-bar and telephone.
Having such spacious and luxurious suites with their own Jacuzzis on your deck, the temptation for many guests must be to simply spend the middle hours of the day between game drives relaxing in their suite or on the deck. But if you do decide to go up to the main public areas you will find them similarly attractive. The spacious view deck over the valley below is an obvious attraction and you also have the option of chilling during the heat of the day at the swimming pool below. There’s also a fully equipped gym and steam room for those guests wanting to stay active. If you’re like us and prefer a good bout of pampering, then head instead to the lodge’s Spa for a wonderful massage or beauty treatment!
Guests will enjoy morning and afternoon game drives and bush walks, from open 4x4 vehicles or in private hides. Guided by experienced, knowledgeable rangers, guests can view Big 5 game, such as elephant, lion and rhino or relish more intimate encounters with other fauna and flora. Another aspect not to be underestimated is the sheer beauty and scenic splendour of the surrounding Waterberg, with majestic mountains punctuated by gorges, rivers and rolling plains! Back at the lodge you can relax and chat with fellow guests at the lovely firepit off the main deck whilst you prepare yourself for another delicious meal prepared by the lodge’s chefs - perhaps served under the stars in the unique natural rock boma made with gigantic rocks which is combined with atmospheric lighting to provide a truly memorable dining experience!
